We are looking to fill the following positions in South Africa:

  • Fixed-wing pilot (Cessna and Kodiak). Looking for 1000-hour Pilots with ME and some Turboprop experience

  • Fixed-wing maintenance engineer

  • Helicopter pilot (Squirrel AS 350 B2). Looking for 1000-hour Pilots ideally with some AS-350 experience

  • Helicopter maintenance engineer

  • Air Operations Manager


**Note that these are not paid positions and have a preferred commitment of 3 years. All Mercy Air staff are committed Christians and are required to raise their own support.

Volunteer

Are you interested in volunteering with us short-term? We offer volunteer opportunities from 1 week to 3 months on our base in White River and in the communities we serve.

  • IT support

  • Building projects

  • Maintenance including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing

  • Solar installation and maintenance

  • Vehicle mechanic

  • Medical and dental

  • Photography and videography

  • Education

  • Pastor Training

**Mercy Air asks that volunteers have an active Christian faith and that, in general, they cover their own expenses.

Vision Trips & Internships

Mercy Air partners with like-minded organisations to provide people with a taste of what it would be like to serve full time in mission aviation. Spend up to 4 weeks on an active mission base in South Africa to gain a hands-on, cross-cultural exposure to mission aviation. Each trip is crafted to the needs of the group or individual and may include:

  • Assisting with Mercy Air’s work including flight operations.

  • Interacting with the Mercy Air team and learning from missionaries in the field.

  • Participating in local ministries and visiting local churches.

  • Engaging in Cross cultural experiences.

  • Visiting the Kruger National Park.
